Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Parish Records-Heptonstall-Todmorden

Hi Josey, (and Dobfarm)

I pulled out a descendant tree that Trevor (1) sent me some time back, (I've really got to get down to putting all the extra info on my Family Tree programme, Illness over the last couple of years has slowed me down.)  Yes I found the marriage info on it, also that they were buried at Westgate Chapel.  Their son Daniel and his wife Elizabeth Hill were buried at Undercliffe Cemetery.

As far as I was aware the only Wilkinson in our tree was Martha, Phineas's mother, she was born in Allerton in c1742.

But on looking through this latest tree update I found two more, a Wilfred Wilkinson married Flora Illingworth in 1903, I have no birthdate for Wilfred but Flora was born 1877, no places or children listed, Flora's parents married in Bradford.

The second one was Harold Crabtree Wilkinson, 1904-1985, born 28 June 1904, married 7 August 1930 to Madge Illingworth, born 19 May 1905 in Fernbank, Bradford Road, Shipley, she died 10th July 2003, Steeton Court Nursing Home, Steeton, Keighley.  Harold died 12th June 1985 in Northallerton.  No children listed.

Re: cats, my three were all born to feral mothers, you would never know it now, they are real home loving cats, though Rappy, the tux (mommy's boy) likes to hunt, he keeps bringing me presents.  I don't mind the mice but I wish he'd leave the rats outside!  We lost our matriarch Sammy jo at the age of 23 years, two months and 9 days old, she was a real bossy boots tortie.

Hi Josey,

Thank you for the information, I will contact cousin Paul Trevor (no. 1) to see if he has got any further with this, he is far more active with research than I am at the moment.
I'm closer to York than Trevor so if he hasn't got any further I will try to find out if the Borthwick Institute has the relavent records, and pay a visit if they do.

Love your avatar pic, I've got 3 cats, one black, one tux and a calico, all characters!

Hi Soup,

Thank you for that info, I believe William and Ann Hutchison /Hutchinson would be related to Edwins paternal grandparents, Christopher Pybus and Jane Hutchinson, uncle and aunt possibly?

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 + 1861 Census Lookup - SELBY
« on: Thursday 13 July 06 19:27 BST (UK)  »
Thanks a lot folks.  My contact has now discounted the 1841 census family as the son John appears later with children born in England after 1865, not possible with our John who left England for good in 1861 and stayed in Canada after deserting the regiment!   but the 1861 census entry looks promising.  Jacsel

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / 1841 + 1861 Census Lookup - SELBY

I have been trying to find the Family of John and Eliza SELBY, apparently first found in St. Peter's Parish (1841) with six children. Then in 1861 in St. Nicholas Parish with son John who is listed as a Soldier on furlough from the 60th Rifles.  This info was passed to me by a friend in Minnesota, she got it via an unknown third party, but I have been unable to find or corroborate it.  We are particularly interested in an elusive soldier called John Selby who left England for Canada with his Regiment, the 4th Bat. 60th Rifles, aboard the 'Great Eastern' later in 1861,  and this John may possibly be our missing link.  ???  Jacsel.

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Benjamin Illingworth
« on: Wednesday 07 December 05 23:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Oly,

I have a Benjamin, one of six known sons born to John Illingworth, mothers name unknown, place of birth unknown, date circa 1790-1800.

I have a contact in Washington DC who also has a Benjamin, one of seven sons, mothers name Anne Wolstenholme, fathers first name unknown.  Her Benjamin was married in Womersley, I didn't know there was more than one Womersley and I don't think my contact did either.  Where is the other Womersley?

All my contact knows is that her Benjamin married Mary Unwin.  Naturally we are curious to find out if our Benjamin's are one and the same.  I have been up on the IGI and found lots of Benjamin's and even more Anne Wolstenholme's, but not one married to an Illingworth.  There was one entry of a Christening of a Benjamin, 13 April 1805, All Saints, Wakefield, father John Illingworth and mother Hannah ? but nothing conclusive.

I am trying to find more details on Benjamin Illingworth who married Mary Unwin on 28th July 1825, Womersley, Yorkshire.

I am told that the Womersley records are held at WYAS, Wakefield and if anyone is able to do a look-up for me, I would appreciate it, I need to know Benjamins date and place of birth, and especially his parents names, etc.,

I am not sure I am on the right board here, but according to 2005 maps, Womersley is North Yorks!

I am trying to find more details on Benjamin Illingworth who married Mary Unwin on 28th July 1825, Womersley, Yorkshire.

Can anyone please tell me where the Womersley Parish Records are held?

If anyone is able to do a look-up for me, I would appreciate it, I need to know Benjamins date of birth, and especially his parents names, etc.,

Thank you Tati,  Now I know that Thomas and Jane had another child, Jane E.  Annie Maria married in 1870 and both her older brothers had flown the nest. :D

To anyone else reading this, I am still interested in the 1861 census, if you have it.  Thank you.  Jacsel
