Wondered if you ever got any further with this family?
I am a decendant of Margaret McLean with whom James Calder had Jane Calder born 1847 Boharm.

I have found one of James Calder and Elizabeth Stewart's children in 1891 Margaret Gordon Calder born 1856 Mortlach. Still hunting for the rest!

There must be a connection here to my Sparks from Montrose
I'm descended from William Spark born 1791 in Montrose - his brother Alexander born 1794 was a shoemaker as were many of his descendants

Please can someone add a little colour to my late father. He had red hair and hazel eyes. I think the badge is RAF OTC badge

Thank you

HI Ken and Martin thank you for yor replies.

I have fouind out quite a bit more about Henry since my post but I haven't looked in WO12.

I was sent this information:
In 1815 he fought at the battle of Waterloo in Wiliam Rowans company as the Waterloo Medal Roll shows.

Will do a bit more digging on my next trip to Kew

i dont think they are same man but they defo look alike, could it be a brother?
the gentleman in the bottom pic looks older facially.

I now think chap at top (William) was father to Archibald. Archibald didn't have any siblings
Here is Archibald taken in 1890 I would guess. He is 79 in this photo.

If it is William in the top photo he would be around 60years of age.

Any thoughts? Cheers - Jane
