Tipperary / Kearney Family
« on: Saturday 25 July 09 16:26 BST (UK)  »
Trying to find any information on James Kearney born around 1805, married Mary Gleeson and had a number of children. The main ones I am interested in are James and John. Both went into the army at an early age and both became drum majors I am particularly interested in John Kearney born around 1839 ish, he went on to marry an Ursula from the Ionian islands and I am really interested to find out her maiden name.

All help would be appreciated on this subject. Thanks

Yes these are the same people we have listed on the 1851 Scotland census and we did trace these people to the various places they went to and their children are listed here as well. If you would like this information that we have please email me. We are after the information on the parents, John and Elesabeth.

Hi I dont know if you can help here but I am looking for Albert Potiphar whom I am told served in bomber command and took place in many raids over Germany. I am afraid that is all the information I have except he was born around 1903 - 1905.

Armed Forces / 91st Argyll Highlanders 6th Foot
« on: Tuesday 16 June 09 19:44 BST (UK)  »
Am trying to find if anyone has a list of soldiers who served in the regiment listed in topic. Am particularly trying to locate John Kearney who was apparently with the 91st as drum major with a regiment number 3587, then transferred to the 6th foot with a new number 2048 in 1870.
Have tried war archives on numerous occasions now and they are no help at all unless I can spend a small fortune.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Armed Forces / John Kearney

I am trying to find out about my great grandfather Drum Major John Kearney of the 91st Argyll Highlanders. I have been in touch with records office and they cannot find anything on him on what I was lead to believe was the correct document settings.
He was born in Tipperary, Ireland and joined up as a boy soldier in 1852. Served in India and Greece where he married a woman called Ursula. He had six children in India and one in Dover, Kent so must have been moving around with the military.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone tell me exactly where the 226th siege battery of the RGA were fighting in WW1. My grandfather Lt James Alexander Platts was with this battery and I am trying to trace where he fought in the war.

I am after any information on John McKenn (McKen) unsure if 1 or 2 Ns. Born in 1813 Balmaghie, Kirkcudbrightshire and married an Elizabeth (Elisabeth) again unsure of spelling.

Also information on Ann P McKen
                               Maryann McKen
                               Agnes McKen
                               Matilda McKen

These are all linked eventually to the Pamphilon and then the Platts family.
