Thank you so much,

I have had a look at Woodhorn in 1870 and found him!  If I was now going to look on BMD what would be the district?

Thanks again, nearly all the dead ends that I have had have been resolved by the help of people on Rootschat

Kindest regards Emma

Northumberland Lookup Requests / James Wilson - 1870 North Seaton??
« on: Thursday 10 March 11 13:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

Please could someone help me to locate the birth/baptism record for this man.

James Wilson born about 1870 (from census records, which appear to be consistent).

His parents are Robert Wilson (b1834 Bywell, St Peter) and Frances Wilkinson (b 1837 Woodhead, Bellingham)

I have the following census records

1871 - James aged one year born Leemailing?
1881 - James aged 11 years born North Seaton
1901 - James aged 32 years born North Seaton married to Eliazabeth Johnson

As there are so many James Wilson's I am unable to find a birth.  I also do not understand why he would be born in North Seaton and what parish should I look under?  I have no surviving family left to help with this and I do not know when or where he died

I also have him on the 1911 census after Elizabeth has died, he is aged 41 so I am pretty sure 1870 is a true year.

Any help would be really appreciated.  Many thanks

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Stamfordham - Matthew Barron look up please

Hello all that have helped, I have only just had the chance to digest this info and I really appreciate the help.  It has given me a lot of help.  Matthew is buried next to David and there is another David in the grave so I think I now have the links that I need.

Why do you think that some baptisms were at Cheeseburn and some at Stamfordham parish church?  Also where can I gain access to the Cheeseburn records, they would be nice to see.

Many, many thanks

Emma

WolfieSmith!
You are a legend!!!  I had thought that his father may have been David as there was a grave very close to his in Stamfordham with David and sons (also named David)  They were at Dodley as the family seemed to have been there for quite a while.  I have visited the farm and the new owners took me around and made me tea!  They also had photos of my great great grandmother.

Thanks to all of you but I think that must be the one.  May be a push too far but I dont suppose you know where I can look for more info on David and Mary?

Kindest Regards Emma

Hi all,

Thank you JenB, I have had a look and that is so great!  Have been stuck at a standstill for a while and just got back into it again, now I am up all night again!!

Davidft,  Thanks again for your help.  I am a member and I have started to build my tree up and that alone has given me a lot more hits!  My tree has doubled in size thanks to your efforts.

Kindest regards

Thanks!

I had looked at pilotfamilysearch for her in Haltwhistle and not found it!  I have tried to look again but as you said the site is down at the moment.

That has been a great help!

I have some great new leads now.
 :)

Oh thank you so much!  That may be the one!  I will order the certificate.  If you have any joy on her parents that would be great.

Kind regards

Emma
