Hello Martin,

Good to hear from you.

I'm still looking for his baptism and his burial/death. I know he was in the Battle of Waterloo, and was captured by the French. His wife (Charlotte Burrows) is registered as a widow in 1826.

Any new information would be much appreciated.

Best wishes,
David.

Hello Superfly,

I don't have Henry/John's parents. Please can you check again the next time you visit the record office as I't's a bit of a shock.

Thank you for your efforts.

Best regards,

David.

Hello Superfly,

Thank you for the baptisms. Is the father of the children a Henry Camp and not John as in your reply?

Thanks again for your time.

Best regards,

David.

Hello Superfly,

Thank you for your information.

Do you have access to High Ongars baptisms to check if there are any baptisms for Camps between 1805 and 1825?

Best regards,

David.

Hello Louisa,

Thank you very much for your time and research. Very interesting. Henry Camp and Elizabeth Betts were married in High Ongar in 1806. Do you have access to the records before 1815?

Elizabeth may well have been a Bettis/Bettys/Betts. Is there a baptism for her in 1773?

Thanks again.

Best regards,

David.

P.S. We have not been in contact before regarding any other names. I live in Bournemouth in Dorset.

Hello Deborah,

Thank you for your reply.

I would be most grateful if you could search for me at Chelmsford. The time scale is not a problem.

Henry camp (born circa 1816 in High Ongar) is my 3 x great grandfather.

I look forward to your information.

I have attached part of my tree for your reference.

Best regards,

David.

Dello Diddy,

That's my tree on Ancestry. It needs a bit of updating.

She was living in Orford on the 1841 census.

Best regards,

David.

Hello Diddy,

Thanks for the info. That is indeed the burial of Witherington's wife Charlotte. She died on the 6th September, 1847 in Orford.

With reference to Witherington's birth on familysearch.org: I think this date was presumed from the marriage date.

Best regards,

David.
