From other posts and particularly that of 'goldlabel' the family I referred to are direct descendants of Richard Simpson and presumably relatives of yourself. I went  out -all too briefly - with one of the girls in the early 70's.  I saw the above thread and thought I could help the query.
I  hope my contribution has been of some use to 'farmerjosephine' as it seems to have made clear a family line associated with Charles Moore, although there is a contradiction between 'tidybooks'' post that a Charles Moore had 6 Children and a servant, and 'goldlabel's information that he had no issue (possibly no male issue, possibly another person of the same name, possibly victims of the higher incidence of infant mortality?). As 'apanderson' has implied, one becomes interested despite oneself. (I wonder how the reid query is going).

In the 1970's a family Simpson which owned the company which produced 'Moore's Gold Label' lemonade lived in Patterton, near Newton Mearns. Their house was off Capelrig Road, near to Williamwood School (I believe they have since left the area). There were two daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret, names which occurred frequently in their family. Both girls went to Laurel Bank School in Glasgow (subsequently Laurel Park School) and I think both married and moved eastwards into the Central Belt.
Moore was the surname of the founder of the company and a grandfather or great-grandfather of the girls. I understand that Dunn and Moore was a separate company.
I believe these may be the descendants of the Moore of which you speak. I cannot help you with the Reid connection. Hope this helps.

Sorry, not Williamwood school, Eastwood school. And I note the Laurel Park old girls website is down. Possibly someone at the Whitecraigs lawn tennis club may still be in contact.
