Hi KG,

Wow ! Thanks for all that information.
It certainly looks like it could be my family line  :)
as they were all bookbinders.
I'm a librarian !! in Victoria, Australia.

Hi !

Sorry I can't help with any burial information, but possibly St Patrick's cemetery ?
Do you happen to know his parents names ?
My GGG grandfather David Ivor was born 1798 & died 1878 in Newry.
Possibly David Bruce Ivor's father ?
Any information on the Ivor family would be greatly appreciated  :)

Regards
Lynne

Australia / Smith - Tootell marriage 1879, in classified ads 1904 ?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could help with why a marriage that took place in 1879 would be advertised in 3 papers on the following dates ?
The Age 19th May 1904
The Argus 26th May 1904
The Australasian 4th June 1904

SMITH—TOOTELL.—On the 14th May, 1879, at St.
Mary's R. C. Presbytery, by the Rev. Father England,
William Henry Smith, native of Gotland,
Sweden, youngest son of Charles Smith, to Sarah
Ann, native of White Hills, Bendigo, eldest
daughter of Jacob Tootell, of Nottinghamshire,
England.

  ???
Thanks

Good morning!
Thanks for your replies.
Cando, I found William's death details on a site called firstfamilies2001, many years ago !
I was just helping out a contact who is writing a book about the Bridges family & didn't want to purchase the certificates myself :-\

Cheers,
Lynne

Hi,
Can't find burials for either William or Catherine !
I have tried all the indexes & sites I can think of  :(
William BRIDGES died Dec 23 1884, Brunswick, Victoria.  Father Daniel.  Mother Sarah Covington (Coventon)
Catherine BRIDGES (Olley) died 1872 Melbourne, Vic.  Father George Olley.  Mother Jane Bland
Found an entry on Trove in The Argus 31 Dec 1872  which states her death in the Benevolent Asylum, of a tumour.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lynne
