Yeah you are right

It is hard to know for sure.... best to get birth certificate

I have ancestry records saved... am I able to attach or are there copyright laws that prohibit this.

In the long form for 1851 (people in the house- handwritten) it says cambridge shire for Thomas and East Heaton for Mary...

on this there are only the three children John, Joab and Mary.. guessing Mary and Betsy could have been working / out the house / married...  by then.

Thanks
Sara

Hester
Born Hester Day
on Kate Southern's birth cert is says

Esther Southern
Died Cook
Born Day

on her birth stone she is Hetty Cook..

I guess she used all the derivatives of Hester.. :)

Thanks Carol

If Thomas and Mary had Joab (Job) in 1840 and John in 1837 then if these three children are from this couple, the Mary would have been 32.. that is quite late for first child.. isnt it?

Yes Hester, John and Joab all seem to be from Glanford Briggs Lincs...

Mary is East Heaton?? any idea where that is?

Hmmm interesting... maybe a second marriage
older children Mary aged 12 and Betsey aged 9 - both b Lincs so any marriage is around 1826-1829

Maybe I can get the birth cert of Hester to get Mary's details...

Hester married an older man as well
She married William Blakley Southern and then later married a COOK

William B, Southern born 1826  Hull
Hester born 1846.. 20 years as well...

odd??

thanks
Sara

Thank you Carol

Thomas and Mary Day's daughter Hester was my great great grandmother.

If John was born in 1837 maybe they were married around there.. given they did not have children before which did not survive the census.....

I have also seen bedfordshire, but on ancestry.co.uk census 1851 showing Thomas, Mary, John, Joab and Hester, shows him as Cambridgeshire and I found a Thomas Day of that date from Wisbech, but not sure.

Thanks for your help with this
