This is interesting, I have a picture of him in a mayoral chain and it definatly sys Mayor of Louth on the back of the picture.
I'm now wondering if he was mayor or somewhere else and because he was born in Louth this is where the confusion has arose or something else.
Any ideas?

The other censuses only say the same, although one says 'Natural B' as well.

No idea where to begin with this!

Lincolnshire / Mayor of Louth?
« on: Wednesday 21 March 12 19:39 GMT (UK)  »
Im hoping someone can help me,
I have recently been told that my great great grandfather was Mayor of Louth at one point in his life. I was wondering if anyone could either give me or point me in the direction where I might be about to find out more. He was born 1849 and died 1928 and it was sometime between then (not exactly sure on dates, but possibly around the turn of the century?).
His name was Samuel Jesse Jackson.

Thank you
