Thanks for that. Can I ask where you found this information as I would like to do more searches?

Many thanks for that. All I need now is for someone who lives in Forfar to get me a photograph of the grave.  ;D

Angus (Forfarshire) / Large brick wall
« on: Monday 20 March 06 14:30 GMT (UK)  »
I have come up against a brick wall that I just can't seem to break down at all and am desperately looking for help. With the help of previously unknown family members who have contacted me via various sites, I have successfully got back to 1660 on my mother's side of the family. The Spence family.

As for my father side, the Gordon family I have got as far back as c1792 and no further.

If any one thinks that they might have some connection to the following names, I would be grateful for any help no matter how little.

John Gordon dob c1849 @ Dundee
John Gordon dob c1813 @ Dundee
James Gordon dob c1792 @ Dundee

Many thanks
Linda ;D

Fife / Poor house/hospital

I have come across an ancestor who died 10 days after childbirth in Venturevair Houses in Dunfermline in 1879. A friend from Dunfermline tells me that there is a street called Venturevair Gardens in Dunfermline.

This got me thinking that there may have been a poorhouse or hospital in this area.

Can anyone help me out here.
