Hi

The Whittles in my tree are from England.

However - I also have Phelans from Tramore in my family.

My father's coursin was Patrick Joseph Phelan b 18 Nov 1917.  His mother was Catherine Power and his father was James Phelan who worked as a stone mason.  Catherine died when Patrick was less than a year old and he was brought up in Bay View Cottage, Priest's Road, Tramore by his grandmother (my great grandmother) and his aunts (particular Anne Power).

Is this part of your Phelan family?

regards

OK - so he was justifying his age by refrerring back to the 1850 census and his family at that time?

Ivan - Is this information in London/Kew or in Dublin?

Wow! This looks a real possibility.

Any further info regarding siblings ages/dates or any occupations might enable me to fix things.

Thank you so much!

Kind regards

Many thanks.  I have got the details of Johanna Power (widow) and her family from Priests Road from the 1851 extract.  These Powers are no relation.

If I was reading things correctly you were possibly suggesting other Power's in the Priests Road in 1851 too? - these may be my relations.

My Grandfather (John Power) was born in Bay View Cottage, Priests Road Tramore and lived his childhood there. His father (John Power) also lived his married life there with his wife Anne - he was born about 1850.  His father was also called John Power - I do not know the name of his mother.  There was a John Power living very close to where Bay View Cottage is now at the time of the  Griffiths valuation so this might be him?

Kind regards

Hi

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you.  This sounds really exciting (for me!)

Please can you give me a bit more information about the 1851 extract? - Is it just for the Tramore area?  Where could I locate it?

Please could I also clarify some of the details of your posting? - I note you record that John and Kate were  the parents and Mary, Maurice, Bridget and Margret were the children on the 1891 census - but please can you confirm the link to their son John? - was he on a later census extract or other linking document (if he was not onthe 1851 census)?

Sorry for all the questions.

Kind regards
