Hi Canadia

My Great grandmother was Bathia Goodbrand. She was the first daughter of Jane Goodbrand born in 1861 before Jane married William Sutherland in 1868. Bathia married John Slater who was lost at sea in 1887. Bathia and John had three daughters, the oldest was Mary Slater born in1880 who was my grandmother. She came to Canada in 1906 and married Andrew Methven.
From your webname it sounds like you are also a Canadian.

Hi Tom

Thanks for your reply regarding Blackburn street.
I have two references to Blackburn St. in my documents. One is in 1919 the other in 1945. I assume this must be the old Blackburn Street not the current one. Do you know when the original street was torn down?

Thanks
Diane

Hi

I just came across your posting offering to take photos of addresses in Glasgow. My great grandmother Bathia Robertson lived at 36 Blackburn St. I don't know if it still exists but would love to have a picture of it if it does.
Thank you
Diane

Hi Val

I have recently come across some old pictures and wonder if you recognize these people. Could it be our great grandmother Bathia with two daughters and a grandaughter?  I would love to know.

Hi Val Thank you so much for your reply. I was surprised by the four children Bathia was reported to be left with since I believe she only had three. I would like to know if when Bathia  remarried to Joseph Robertson in 1895 if they had any other children. Did Joseph bring children into the marriage? I would also like to know about the children of Isabella and Jeannie. I have a number of old pictures of a young man and on the back is written "cousin Willie". I do not have any idea who it is. I could copy and send it if you think you might be able to help.

Thanks
Diane

I am new to this and have just discovered your posting about JOHN SLATER. He is also my great grandfather. His daughter Mary Slater is my grandmother. She came to Canada in 1907 and married Andrew Methven. I am very interested in information about my grandmother Bathia Slater and her children Isabella and Jeannie and their children.
