Hello from Canada, Horsley & Francis BULMER who drowned in the Tees estuary were in my family tree !  Horsley was my grandmother Elizabeth's father.  I have a fair bit of info on the family, but did not know that John & Margaret had crossed the pond to Canada on 14.05.1911.  That is a great lead which I will follow up.  Many thanks. :) .  Do you live anywhere near the Spion Kop Cemetery ?  I would love to have a photo of the memorial to Horsley & Francis if you have one or can get one .  Age and health prevent me from going to Hartlepool, and I have no relatives in the UK who could help.  I very much appreciate your assistance.  Cheers,  Ian.

My maternal grandmother was a BULMER from West Hartlepool - a fishing / boat-making family.  From bedesman to fishing would be quite a jump, but in family history every avenue should be explored !
She was Elizabeth BULMER (1882 to 1971); father was Horsley BULMER (1844 to 1887); she married Robert LOWREY in W. Hartlepool and they lived in Newcastle upon Tyne.  I knew her well when I was very young.  She was widowed at an early age.
I have all the easy information from UK censuses, BDMs etc., but perhaps there is a relationship to the John BULMER of Durham, or possibly a Rootschat reader can tie in with the W. Hartlepool BULMER families ?
I have lived in Ottawa, Canada for many years and have often wondered if any of the BULMERs in Canada were originally from the W. Hartlepool group ?
Any comments or information would be much appreciated.
Thank you,  Ian.

In yesterday's message from Malcolm33 he indicates an interest in the Turnbulls of Northumberland and Co. Durham.  My great.grandmother was a TURNBULL born in Northumberland.  I have details of her birth and marriage but am having difficulty pinning down her death.  Perhaps Malcolm33 would like to compare notes with me about the Turnbulls ??  Ian in Canada.  (born in Newcastle).

Pat, since writing my previous message the pdf. has been read.  It's very obvious that you have put a great deal of work into photographing the memorials and listing the inscriptions.  It's very
impressive !!  Thanks again. Ian

John Walton WHITE died in 1918 as a result of injuries received in World War I.  He is buried in "Consett Blackhill and Blackhill Old Cemetery".  I would love to have a photo of his memorial stone and any other info about him.  Any and all help would be much appreciated.  He was closely related to my WHITE grandfather, and his parents were Pattinson and Elizabeth WHITE.  Thanks.

Yes, you are quite correct about the Chronicle obituaries, but they do not cover anywhere near all the deaths.  Cemetery lists are considerably more comprehensive, and if a photo can be obtained it gives a much more personal feel about the person(s).

Are there any on-line lists of the persons in any Tyneside area cemeteries ?  I am especially interested in the All Saints, Jesmond and the Elswick burial grounds, but any others in or around Newcastle would be interesting.  With digital cameras being used so much today the stones and memorials in many cemeteries have been photographed and put on the web.  Any in the Newcastle area ?   Thanks.
