Interesting comment. On the medal cards have found someone in the Army Service Corps with the same first name and surname who is described as Acting Corporal. Unless some futher information comes to light, it will remain a mystery as to which regiment he was in. The service number given on the medal card do not help in finding any service or pension records.

Thank you saddles (Carolyn), Wiggyhobes and not forgetting trellisick. Fantastic.

Now to get the printer wound up!

Once again, thank you everyone.

Thank you James. A very interesting observation which was totally beyond me. It had been assumed that he was in the South Staffordshire Regiment but having a fairly common name has not been positively identified in the Medal Rolls. In another photo I have, he has 2 stripes so had reached the rank of Corporal. There was a soldier in the South Staffordshire with the same full name but was a Private but had my doubts that it was the subject, unless he got busted! Am off now to search the records of the Army Service Corps. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks James. I did wonder if it was a cigarette in a holder but thought that it was too long.

This last picture shows 4 of the couples 5 children. The bottom of the picture has ben roughly cut presumably to make it fit  in a frame.

Black an dwhite and colour photograph would be appreciated.

I have no idea as to hair colour or clothes colours but the background would appear to have been quite dark.

Thanking you in anticipation..

This is the second photograph and shows the parents with 4 of their 5 children. I should explain that this couple had their children and then married. It would seem that the marriage took place just in case something happened to the father in the war.Thefather loks a little older than in the previous picture and may have been taken on his return from the war or whilst onleave some time after 1915. Again a black and white restored picture would be nice as would a coloured one. Thanks in anticipation.
