Technical Help / Re: Backing up/saving family tree files
« on: Saturday 17 January 15 15:56 GMT (UK)  »
Many thanks for all your replies. I wasn't sure whether a memory stick would suffice to save a full copy of my family tree. I am currently using FH V.5 (will be upgrading shortly) & back up to laptop each time I enter any new data but want to have an extra copy should the laptop expire! Once again thanks

Technical Help / Backing up/saving family tree files
« on: Friday 16 January 15 20:23 GMT (UK)  »
I have my family tree stored on my laptop computer & I use Family Historian. I am looking to find  the best way  to have a copy stored in case my laptop 'dies'. Would I be able to save the whole thing on a flash drive or would I be better to purchase a portable hard drive? Either way, any recommendations on what to buy? Many thanks if anyone can help.

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / WILLIAMS - Treforest death/burial info
« on: Wednesday 29 July 09 19:30 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information on the death/burial of Thomas Simmons WILLIAMS. Living in Treforest in 1851 but does not appear on 1861 census so can presume he died between these dates. he was a carpenter by trade & born in Bristol c.1800.

Any help/info greatly appreciated

gene-genie - many thanks but don't think this is the right Thomas Williams.

Has anyone got access to birth or marriage entries for Pip & Jay parish register? I'm now looking for Thomas Simmons Williams birth (c.1802)and his marriage to Elizabeth (c.1827). Basically looking for parents names so I can go back a bit further.
