I have been reading some of the chatter about Alchins in Australia. I have noticed an error in a family tree listing. john Haynes married Margaret Alchin in Mulgoa (near sydney) in 1839. They had at least 10 children, registered with a variety of spellings of haynes, Hayes, Hynes etc. The error I have noticed is that their son William, born 1845 married twice. Wife 1 - Harriet Price DOM 1872. Wife 2 - Ann Chittick DOM 1889. William and Ann had 3 sons, James, Arthur and Edward. Edward was my grandfather. John and Harriet had a son William and daughter Christina.
William and Harriet's son William is often incorrectly listed as married to Ann Chittick.
William Haynes (DOB 1873) married Letitia Fuller in 1906. I am sure of my facts about the marriages. Ann Haynes (Chittick) lived with my father and his family until her death in 1943.
