Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Can anyone please help :(

There's a listing for James Convery on that site b 1873 in Co Antrim.  So that could be him.  It should give parents details there.  Another way to get more info is to look at the 1881 Scottish census.  I can see a household there with a Francis Convery and there's a Mary in the household.  This will also give their ages & where they originate from.

Just trying to help you out!  Maybe you've already looked at all this!

Hi there

I have searched for McGlaid on the site that I mentioned previously & there are a few, plus variants on the name.  There is a marriage record of a Francis Convery & Mary Maglade in 1876 in Co Down.  But, of course, this may not be them!

I think it may well be McGlaid.  It may just be a case of a name written incorrectly on some documents.  I have found this to be so when tracing my family.

If you look at:
www.ifhf.brsgenealogy.com/

& do a search of all Irish counties you will find some McGlaids & McGlades.  Hope this helps!!

Argyllshire / Jordan Family in Campbeltown
« on: Thursday 12 February 09 13:30 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

I have just traced my GGG Grandfather Joseph Jordan to Campbeltown.  He was born in Belfast in 1809 & was in Scotland by 1851 with his family. He died in 1868 in Campbeltown & occupation is listed as an Inland Revenue Officer (Excise). His son Frederick(master cabinet maker) & family lived in High St Campbeltown & he died in 1871.  MY G Grandfather, Peter Hamilton Jordan was born there in 1871.  I am v excited to have traced all this & just wondering if there are STILL Jordans living in the town.  Is this a popular surname....anyone know?

Kildare / Marriage Look Up please?

Hi there

I'm searching on behalf of my 80 yr old mother for her parents details.  She was born in Castledermot & lived in Ballaghmoon.  Her father was a Thomas Morrissey (whose mother was Kate).  Her mother was Elizabeth (Lily) Jordan b.1901(who came from Co Tyrone).  I don't even know when they were married (sometime between 1917-1925).  Ideally I would like to locate their marriage cert but where would I look if I don't know the parish?  Eventually, I would like to trace Thomas Morrissey's birth cert.  Any guidance would be much appreciated!!

Hello

After searching long & hard I have found details of my GGG Grandfather Joseph Jordan.  But the trail stops there.  He was born in 1809 in Parish of St Anne's, Shankill.  Parents, Frederick & Mary but I can't find any info on them or where they were born of if they had lived in this parish for a long time.  Can anyone help?
