I can't really give you any information on your ancestor, but if you can get to York to visit the 15th foot regiment museum it can give you a insight into where they were stationed etc. The curator which I saw was extremely friendly and helpful, he even let us see an original uniform from the around 1800 which was kept in the backroom and described to us what they would have carried, luckily I have found my ancestor on the A2A site and have a print out of his discharge papers, and although they cannot do any family tracing it is a very insightful couple of hours tour of the regiment.
