I am seeking information about ancestors and descendants of Samuel Harvey born around 1700 possibly in St Buryan in Cornwall where he reportedly wed a Mary Busostow/Busostoe in April 1726.

Any details would be welcomed.

Hi,

Wedding cert gives Robert as a Carrier.

The S. Kilvington link also gives a Sister, Elizabeth baptised in 1813 and she links to Mother, Mary in 1841 & 1851 Censuses.

I also found a marriage in Thirsk on 04 May 1812 between John Oliver and Mary Dodgson which could fit with birth of Elizabeth?

Thank you Patrish, Keyboard86 and claire,t for your interest, researches and info/suggestions. Very much appreciated and I will investigate them.

Marriage Cert. says Father, John was a labourer and deceased at time of marriage.  Husband Robert was a Carrier by trade so that might account for wanderings to Germany and elsewhere?

Thanks again all for your help, it has given me some useful leads.

Looking for any info on Mary born in Northallerton around 1821.  Married Robert Barnett in 1840 at Thirsk.  Her Father was John.  Any details of Parents and Siblings would be welcomed.

Westmorland / Re: Mary Thompson

Unfortunately I have lost the link but some kind souls pointed me at a Mary Barton for William's Wife.  It looks very promising and leads to lots of possible ancestors.  However, I would just like to be able to confirm them as a couple with other evidence.  My concern is why did William as a Tailor go across from Bishop Auckland to find a Bride in Milburn, Westmorland?  Any ideas or thoughts would be welcomed.

Hi Janis & Trish,

Thank you both for your interest and suggestions.

Unfortunately I have not found a tailor link yet with other possible siblings or his father.  A number of sibling possibilities but again so far I cannot definitely link them together other than through parents.

I did notice John on the 1841 census but my list of possible siblings does not include a John.

I will keep trying.  Thanks again both.

Durham / William Thompson Circa 1791

I am trying to determine birth date and forebears for William Thompson, Tailor of Bishop Auckland.  He appears to have been born in 1791 in St Helens Auckland, although subsequently lived in St Andrew Auckland.

There are lots of William Thompson baptismal entries in both St Helens and St Andrew Auckland but how to find the correct one.  Any ideas or tips, please?
