Hi Veronica

It is a pleasure to hear from you.

I am familiar with your uncle Douglas, some years ago he was central to some enquiries relating to a found war memorial.

I was in contact with one of his brothers, and I was fortunate to speak to a chap that Doug trained with in WW2 !

I will find the link to the information (which includes a photo of Doug whilst training) and let you have it - it’s a long thread as it involves other men, but you should find it helpful.

Edit##

Here is the thread, I see you have found it already :)

For simplicity I will comment on that thread to keep info in one place.

He isn't on cwgc, so we need to know a little more, do you have any further info.

There is one 1917 death for Albert Cecil Diaper - thats an usual surname, possibly related?

I dont have the 1917 magazines unfortunately, but there was a booklet published for the companies memorial service, will see what it contains.

What else do you have?

Hi

Bikers post was 11 years ago, not sure he is on here now?

I think I still have the reference discs with the magazines on, will see if I can locate them.

Hi
Joseph Alanzo was a very close family friend to my Grandparents, and lived with them for a long time before he died.  My mum remembers him as "Yank".  My mum is now 85 yrs old and has been asking to go and see Joesph`s grave.

Have you managed to find any more about him or even got any pictures.

Thank you
Michele
