i wonder if anyone can help me track down a lost relative?

William Lewis Cross a marine fireman married Ethel Etty Walters in Sculcoates in July 1918. there was a son, Frank L born in 1919. It appears Edith died in Sculcoates in 1922. William returned to Canada and remarried. Know nothing of the particulars of Edith's death or whatever became of son Frank. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi dizswft
thanks for your reply. what I know is as follows:
Richard Mitchener  married Elizabeth Holloway (no dates on Elizabeth), children were Richard and John
Richard (2) married Sarah Marsh (no death date for Sarah), children were John Henry, Martha, Anna Maria, Ellen, Henry, William, Mary Ann.
John Henry married Mary Ann Knight, children were Richard, Charles, Walter John, James, George Henry, Frank, Andrew Samuel, Mary Jane.
Richard (3) married Sarah Collins (no death dates for either), children were George Richard,  Bertie Edward, Florence Maud, Elizabeth, Walter, Lilian.

Are you in the family line making us related? Any updates, add ons etc would be appreciated........

William/Louis was a bit of a free spirit. After marrying Eva Killingbeck, they moved to Rochester NY. Shortly after that William left......

He appears to have lived in Texas and California. The latter based on info for his mother's obit in Norwood Ontario in 1938. There is no found obituary for him that I'm aware of. Searching records up to 1940 in the US he is not listed..........

No one seems to know anything of his whereabouts when he left, where he went to or where he died......... a mystery in death as he was in life!

Thanks jorose and jj

Your information is narrowing the search.

Unfortunately everything is just off enough to not "fit: William married Eva Killingbeck in Norwood in May, 1921 (I have the marriage registration and the newspaper notice). The likely candidate of Edith E dying in 1922 as the first wife is off by over a year. Unless of course he wasn't a widower at the time time of his second marriage as he stated.

Yet, the information that he was widowed and there was a son does make Edith E Walters a likely candidate, and Frank L is the "missing and unknown" son.. As of yet I have had no luck tracing down service records etc.......
