I am also a great granddaughter of David and Jemima. My grandfather was David & Jemima's son, Colin McKenzie, my father was Colin's son, also Colin.  I have loads of info which I would love to share.  You can email me at (email address removed, please use PM)  I live in Ontario but all my relations are in Scotland.  I have many documents as well as a few photo's of Jemima, David and family.  There are some interesting facts about the my Scottish relations. * Removed living persons details

I have the cemetery documents for Rosebank.  David purchased a double plot (in depth).  Others have been to the cemetery but could not find a head stone.  I do have the plot info though.
Would love to share info.

Regards

Irene

Photo's sent. I hope you receive them.  I have just realized that these are not the Swan sisters but the McKenzie sisters.  Jemima and Davids daughters.  Hopefully your mom may be able to tell me if I have the right name attached to the right women.

I also have quite a bit of documentation that I can share.

Will do

Keep in mind that George and Mary had daughters Euphemia, Catherine, Jessie and Jemima.  Jemima and David then named their daughters after Jemima's sisters.

I'll send via email as I don't have much luck posting photo's here

Hi Iain & Rena

I tried posting this earlier but it didn't seem to post.

I am connected to this line through Mary Clark.  My gr grandmother was Jemima Swan who was married to David Hook Mckenzie.  Jemima is Catherine's sister.   Jemima and
David has Colin McKenzie.  He married Jenny Campbell.  They had Colin McKenzie (my father) and Jean.  I wonder if you might remember by Aunt Jean.  Jean Mckenzie married James Adam.  My aunt remembers some of the older family members as well.  Jean is now 83 living in Cullen.

I would love to share any info that you have.  I have quite a bit of documentation that I could forward.

Please contact me at (*).

I have photo's of Jemima and David but the last time I tried to post them here they didn't upload.

Regards

Irene

Ev

After your post I bought some time on Scotland's People and came across the info on Ann and Roderick.  I believe these are Finlays parents.  I had come across this info a few years ago but I wasn't there in my search so didn't make the connection.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention again.  I wonder if Ann could have been Mary Ann.  Or if Ann died and Roderick remarried to Mary.  Oh the mystery of it all.

Again thanks for pointing me in the right direction.,

Thanks Ev

I've also come across Roderick and Ann.  The only reason I hesitate to make that connection is that on their son Finlay's death registration it lists Mary MacDonald as his mother.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi there

I'm new to the list and would appreciate any help.  If searching for Roderick McKenzie who married Mary MacDonald in Lochbroom in Feb. 1823.  They had a son, Finlay born in 1825 in Contin.  I have not been able to go any further in my search. Thanks

My 3rd great grandparents are George Swan and Allison Banks.  2nd great grandparents are George Swan and Mary Clark (sister of Jane).  Great grandparents are Jemima Swan and David Hook McKenzie.  Their son Colin was my grandfather.

Would love to share any information.  I have acquired quite a few records for this line.

My apologies if the posts more that once.  I was trying to attach a photo of Jemima, unsuccessfully.
