Hi there, I asked some questions last year and had some answers, which I gratefully followed up on and wish to extend my Thanks to the good folk on here, who started me on my ancestry journey.

I can't see any of the marriages for the names you mention but here are the closest records
Marriage
1910 REID JAMES MCNICOL and BRILLEY SARAH at CALTON GLASGOW CITY/LANARK
Birth of Thomas B.
1915 REID THOMAS BRILLEY Male at ST ROLLOX GLASGOW/LANARK
You can view the certificates on SP and the marriage record should give their parents names [/b]
I followed up on the above info' and they are indeed my Grandparents and my father. From this original info, I have now traced my Reid family back to 'Brigton and before that, Aberdeenshire 1746. My Sarah Brillie/Briley side back to Hugh and Mary (Colvin) Brillie Married 1883 Barrhead, St.John's and subsequently, their parents, John and Agnes (McLean)Brillie and Samuel and Sarah Colvin, Barrhead.
This has dispelled my belief that My Auld Irish Granny Sarah, was in fact 'directly' from Ireland (maybe her ancestry will go back there, still hunting.
My purpose of this note is to encourage others to 'stick with it' and to Thank you again for your assistance, freely given and to commend yourselves and this wee site, Thank You, Jimmy Reid
