Helena
My father in law Alfred Raymond Robinson born here in Fremantla Western Australia in the 30's - also had a sister Norma their father and Mother split when they were little - mum took Norma and Dad took Alfred Raymond...so he doesn't know much about his mother ...let alone his grandparents.....His mother was Margaret Grace Rhoades....so there is a huge chunk missing from the family tree...Ive also considered perhaps his Aussie wife may have come from an Irish immigrant family ....but I haven't even found any record of her or her parent parents yet....only looked online so far.....Do you have any ideas
Kind Regards ...Christine Casey Robinson

Hello Helena
Thank you for your response...
Our Samuel Robinson...all we know is that he was born in Larne - Antrim around 1859 ...I've trawled through all the records on the LDS family search web site and there is only one record confirming the year of marriage in Australia as 1898 to Florence Edith Craven (born Sydney in 1876) their children were born in West Australia at various places..so perhaps he was a labourer...theres no mention of either of their parents  but their kids where Florence Winnifred 1899, Edith 1901, Arthur James 1903, Samuel 1905, Alfred Henry 1909 (our G grandfather) and Frederick 1918?
According to these dates Samuel Snr would have been 40 at his marriage and 58 when the youngest child was born...I cannot find an online death record of him in WA... but he must have died after 1918 and roughly before  1940's...I suspect he may even have been married in Antrim perhaps to a first wife.....I think I may have to visit the library's and records office though I've only tried the online resources so far....Do any of the names ring a bell...I tried most of them to see if perhaps Samuel senior had any brothers or sister named as such around his birth date lots of result but nothing conclusive to link them to a Samuel....we dont actually  have any documents at all for him - only the online records...... Anyway Thanks for your help Helena and I will keep checking and post another message again soon...
Kind Regards Christine Casey Robinson
PS.
Its actually my hubbie's father Alfred Raymond Robinson born here in Fremantle WA in the 30's who is the only son of Alfred Henry Robinson and i'm doing all the research on the family ....so Ray never knew his grandfather I dont think...

Hello Pablo and Robinson Researchers
My name is Christine Casey Robinson
I am trying to find out anything about Samuel Robinson Born around 1859 in Larne...
He must have emigrated to Australia at some point...as we have his marriage in Australia in 1898 to Florence Edith Craven B 1876 from Sydney and their first child is born in NSW ...they later moved out West where they remain today....Mostly in Perth ..Western Australia...would you happen to know anything  about Samuel? perhaps his parents etc or even siblings and even better the ship he travelled on ? or reason for the immigration etc..any info or search guidance would be great ...Kind Regards.... Hi Tracey
I'm hopeful that Seumas may contact me at some point too regarding the Cummiskey links and as for the Casey's...well I'm a Casey myself so I'm a bit partial to them...my parents had five daughters and my father was the only son...so our Casey's may not continue for much longer ...however Ive named my son Jamie Casey Robinson...so hopefully he'll pass it on to the next generation.....one of my sisters is Patricia Casey, my father was James Casey his  father was James Casey - his father was Patrick Casey - his father was James Casey and his  father was Patrick Casey born 1805 in Muckno Monaghan .....not too many names for us to remember....Good luck in your searching and maybe we'll connect again at some point...Kind Regards  - Christine Casey Robinson

Thank you Jack
Thats great news and good info, I hope to come to Ireland to see some of the old records and sites of my ancestors when I return from Australia later this year....I admire the work you's have done to transcribe the old records to digital form, such a valuable resource, and I bet a wealth of information - well done, I will try to get a look at the online resources when I figure out how to
access the personal messaging system, thanks for your response and hopefully I will connect with you again at some point soon ....
Kind Regards - Christine Casey Robinson

Hello Jack
My name is Christine Casey Robinson...I understand you have copied old records from  parish churches in Monaghan ...I had a post on Irish Roots web and I was looking for info on Gillilands - Maxwell's  we think from Ballybay or Clontibret I'm  hopeful it was you who said your wife's sister married a Gilliland from Ballybay...??? is it possible for you to post any info regarding marriages or births from before 1820's...The earliest name we have is a John Gilliland born around 1820 - a farmer who married Jane / Margaret Maxwell - marriage around 1840's we think ...they had three kids that we know of...Joseph Gordon, George  Ernest and Rachel....John died in a Quarry accident around 1850's and the family were allowed to live in the gatehouse of Clontibret parish church..by the minister Swanzy...that's all we know and would love to get a bit of earlier information   eg parents / siblings of John Gilliland and Jane/ Margaret Maxwell and accurate dates of birth and marriage if possible ....would very much answer a lot of brick walls for us too.....All of our modern Gilliland family live mostly in Glasgow Scotland which started with George Ernest... up to and including my mother....Barbara Gilliland (Casey) Thank you Jack... kind regards... Christine Casey Robinson

Hello Tracey and Seamus....
I'm Christine Casey (Robinson) sister of Susan (wee Sue) ..hi sis...
Wondered if either of you had been to Monaghan - Ireland since the last posting we are seeking more info on our Casey and Cummiskey ancestors..there may be a link between our families we know of Patrick Casey born around 1805 in Ireland and his wife Ann Boyle we think from Muckno in Monaghan....we also have John Cummiskey born 1800 and his wife Sarah Carr / Karr from Monaghan....the two couples had children who came to Scotland in the 1850's and the two lines met later on with my grandparents..Agnes Cummiskey born Edinburgh 1908 and James Casey born 1905 in Glasgow, but they seemed to be living close by each other and various other relatives married  Casey's or Cummiskey's.....before our grandparents...its amazing to us to see links way back in Ireland with the two families...do you have any of our names or dates among your info?
Hopeful Regards - Christine Casey Robinson....In Perth, Western Australia....All my Casey family are still in Glasgow.....
