Limerick / Re: Bridget McInerney, b1885 Limerick, married an englishman...

HI Sio
Thanks for that - I did already find her in the 1911 census, thanks to some awesome service from the Irish Registry Office, but I can't seem to track down her father Samuel - no records seem to exist for Samuel McInerney in Limerick  ???,.... It's been very frustrating. Sadly I just haven't got the time and resources to make a trip over to Ireland to try to browse through the local non-digitised records.   :(
As to her husband Harold, he has an uncanny ability to avoid censuses. The closest we can match him to are always people with differing birth years. We think he made up how old he was whenever he was asked...If only they'd release the 1921 censuses! :'(
I don't suppose your Thomas McInerney had a brother called Samuel by any chance?

Thanks Louisag, (and also to shanew147) that site's actually how I found Harold and Bridget in the first place - there are a few records on there that could potentially be Samuel McInerney, Bridget's father, but I just can't afford to spend 5 euros per guess at the moment  - there were a lot to choose from!
Strangely, Bridget doesn't seem to turn up as either a McInerney or a Foster in the 1911 records, even though I know she was still there between 1909 and 1914, when my grandfather and his sister were each born. Nor does Harold exist in those records aside from the marriage one.
Would an english soldier living in barracks be covered under an Irish census or an english one?

Limerick / Bridget McInerney, b1885 Limerick, married an englishman...

I've just discovered that my great-grandmother was one Bridget McInerney, born 1885 in Limerick, daughter of a Samuel McInerney, who was a carpenter. She married Harold foster in 1908, and had a daughter called Mary Margaret Foster in 1909, still in Limerick, and also a son around 1914 called Gerald Patrick Foster. They later moved to Leeds. Harold was an english soldier at the local barracks, the same age as her. I've had no luck beyond finding a marriage record for  Bridget and Harold and a birth record for Mary. I assume Samuel McInerney would have been born between 1840 and 1865. On the marriage record, the witnesses are one John McInerney of 4 Roches Row, Limerick and one Mary Greene of 12 Bowman Street. Bridget's address was given as Mt Pleasant Avenue (Harold's was the barracks). They were married at St Joseph's RC, apparently. Samuel was dead by the time of the marriage, but I don't know what year he died. I also don't know what relation John McInerney is, but I suspect uncle or cousin. Possibly brother, of course. Could be the same John mentioned above, even!

Does this sound like anyone on anyone else's tree? Any info appreciated!
(I posted this in reply to another thread but thought it might be better in it's own thread, so apologies if this causes confusion)
thanks
Andy Foster
