Was that John Inch's uncle by any chance?
I am researching Worfield all the time and am uploading parish mags of Worfield from the time they started in 1873. I haven't got to the 1960s yet but have a look at www.sharehistory.org where everything the history group is gathering about Worfield is put. In one newspaper cutting from the 1930s there was this info about the pub. I know this is before the time you are interesting in but you might like to look at it.

The Limbutts were a couple of cottages, well I think there were 2 and to get to them you had to go across a field. They were situated off Cranmere Bank. I imagine they simply weren't attractive to live in because they were not easy to get to.
Unfortunately not many of Worfield's Poor Law Records have survived. I hope you are lucky.
