Hi Irene and others

I live in Tasmania, my grandfather was Patrick McArdle born in 1853 in Oatlands Tasmania (Australia) son of Patrick McArdle born in Armagh.  My mother recalls a relative of her fathers by the name of Eliza, so I believe with a little more research this could well be the family Irene is trying to trace.

Also, my husband and I were in Armagh in 2005.  On a visit to a little pub we spoke to a few locals about my ancestor being Patrick McArdle from Armagh, low and behold sitting in the corner of the pub was a Patrick McArdle who was the image of my brother and grandfather.  On speaking to him he told me he had a relative who emigrated to WA in the mid 1800's.  He then gave me his brothers name and suggested I call him as he had more knowledge of the family history.

I have the contact details for this brother but did not get to contact him myself.  I hope this information is of help to those trying to trace family history
