Technical Help / Re: Combining Accounts
« on: Saturday 16 July 22 10:26 BST (UK)  »
Thank you Sarah. I agree, that your solution is the easier - but (and in life there is often a but)

I  try to log onto the old account - using forgotten password (there is no way I can recall the password from over a decade ago) and it says it will send an email to the old email address (which is not operational). Thus I do not receive the link to reset the password on the old account - and thus cannot update the email address.

Technical Help / Combining Accounts
« on: Friday 15 July 22 19:21 BST (UK)  »
I have this week created a new account - but in my memory (from a long time again) have had a previous account. I see from the Posts, the account was named Paper_Chase. The email no long exists.

Can this old account be 'combined / absorbed' into my new account

Thanks in advance

My link to the family is via Hannah RILEY (nee CADDICK). As I said I have not found the actual marriage certificate [yet].

I have no problem with you passing my contact info and information onto the other lady researcher - I believe there is strength in numbers when researching.

Have you managed to find any Wills or Administrations from the family? and Do you perhaps have any [very] old photo's?

Nigel

Ljay - good to be in touch
I too do not have a lot - however what I have is:

Eliza CADDICK married John MARTIN (West Bromwich, June Q 1841). They can be found with their children George and Selina, living with Eliza's father Joseph CADDICK (widow) and Joseph RILEY (Grandson) in the 1851 census. I agree that John Martin dies (details unknown) and Eliza remarries Thomas WINFIELD - I have found her in the 1861 and 1871 censuses.

In the 1841 census with Joseph and Ann CADDICK is son Joseph, and John and Eliza MARTIN, and grandchildren Joseph Herbert RILEY and Alfred William RILEY.

I believe that Hannah CADDICK, sister to Eliza married James RILEY circa 1825 - 1830 - however I have not found the marriage. From the IGI I have seen the christenings for both Joseph (8 April 1832) and Alfred (22 August 1830) RILEY.

I believe that Hannah can be found in the 1871 census living with Joseph RILEY as mother.

Hannah can I believe also be found in the 1861 census with daughter Fanny "at the back of 34 Upper Gough Street, Biromingham. In the same household is a Cornelius Bastock - who I believe Fanny subsequently married (June Quarter, Birmingham, 1865 - Charles BASTOCK).

In 1851 Hannah and Fanny and Alfred can be found at 30 Upper Gough Street.

Joseph CADDICK died 21 August 1852 at Summerhill, Tipton. Do you want copy of certificate?, if yes please let me have direct e-mail address.

Three specific details that I lack re the CADDICK's are:

the marriage of Hannah CADDICK to James RILEY
the death of Ann CADDICK, presumably between 1841 - 1851. The spouse of Joseph.
the death of Hannah RILEY (nee CADDICK), after 1871 in Stockton

Via the IGI there are a number (seven) children christened to a Joseph and Ann CADDICK in Tipton (1805 - 1819), including a Joseph (1 December 1816). There is also a marriage between a Joseph CADDICK and a Ann WHITTAKER - 20 March 1796 in Halesowen. However the lack of children between 1796 and 1805, and the different place makes me suspicious that this is the correct entry.

Any details that you have on either CADDICK or RILEY would be very gratefully received.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / 1871 / 1861 / 1851 Census Malton : BARTINDALE
« on: Friday 12 November 04 22:29 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for any information on the family BARTINDALE in Malton, specifcially I am looking for Thomas BARTINDALE (born 1795 Malton; died 1879, Malton). I believe he would have been a shoe maker. In 1871 he would have been 76; 1861: 66 and 1851: 46. The only wife that I know about died in 1843 (Elizabeth RABBIT, married 1829). However there were children - Elizabeth and a William (b 1834; 16 in 1851 and 26 in 1861 [married to Joice HARDY in 1860]) - probably given the dates there would have been other children (including a Hannah?).
Any help as always would be greatly appreciated.
