It would depend on the equipment that your friends are using. Generally, the very cheap DVD players will work where the better known brands will more often kick up a fuss.

PAL/NTSC issues dont come into it when watching the DVD on a computer. Region coding may be an issue but as you are sending copies, it is a simple matter to change the disc to multi region if it isn't already.

Thanks all for the suggestions, link, amazing clean-up and the welcome :) I would normally have introduced myself before jumping in with a question but don't see a suitable board. Hopefully you'll all get to know me with time.

My apologies for messing up with the size of the attached image. A rookie error which won't happen again.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Date Suggestions Please
« on: Sunday 25 January 09 12:37 GMT (UK)  »
I recently came across a bunch of papers and photographs in the back of a wardrobe which once belonged to my Grandparents. It was a lovely find including Identity cards, my Grandfathers diary, various receipts from around the time of their wedding in 1919 and several old family photographs.

Most of the photographs have now been identified but this one remains a mystery. I must say that this family looks a bit well to do considering that most of the family seem to be coal or lead miners but it also seems like an odd thing for my Grandparents to treasure if the subject meant nothing to them.

Would anyone like to take a stab at a date and relative ages of the subjects?

Thanks in anticipation.
