Re. your son in law's great great grandfather, Christopher SETON, surgeon of Kennoway, I have a Christopher SETON 1802-1861 (surgeon) married to Ann McALPIN 1812-1885. His parents were Christopher SETON and Margaret LAING (no dates for either of them) and have been unable to get them further back. Could this be the same Christopher you are referring to?

Just in case it is of any interest to you, a daughter of John RAMSAY and Elizabeth AL(L)ISON named Margaret b.1829 was the mother of Agnes COOK (RAMSAY) 1849-1922. Her father was Alexander COOK (I have a suspect born in Kennoway about 1829).
I have a fair amount of data on Agnes COOK (RAMSAY) and am happy to send you whatever you want.

I have a lot data on this line. My wife, Frances (nee) Malloy descends from Neil & Sarah, through their son William b. 1879. They had  10 children.

I was reviewing some of my old entries and came across your posting. You were looking for Ann(e) GIBSON's maiden name which I believe is GILMOUR. She was married to Daniel GIBSON who died in Glasgow on 11th August 1871. Daniel remarried someone called Mary, sadly I still have not found her maiden name, nor know if there were any children from this marriage (most unlikely), nor do I have any evidence that they did actually marry.

I notice that you are researching the GILMOUR surname so may now know some of this information.
