Derry (Londonderry) / Can any one help with Moneymore Church records
« on: Sunday 30 August 09 06:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am looking for the birth records of three siblings. They are the children of John and Jane (nee Plamer) Campbell. John and Jane were married at the 1st Moneymore presbyterian Church on 28/12/1829. I would expect to find them at this church or Leucumpher, the parish John came from.

They are Margaret (b ~1831); Eliza Jane (b ~ 1833) and John (b ~ 1835).

My primary aim is to find where the family lived. I know they were at Derrynoyd by 1839 when their 4th child was born.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi,

I had wondered about that. I have just ordered Emily Jane's birth cert in the hope her mothers maiden name is on that. If not I'm not sure what next.

Thank you both for you assistance.

Hi Chas,
Thank you for this information. it certainly makes looking up easier when one know the parish/church. Yes Fanny Mary Ann is a sister of Emily Jane's. I had found these through a more general search. Unfortunately neither record has MaryAnn's maiden name. :(

Thanks again

Thank you Carole,

I had not realised the IGI records would be a direct transcription. I think you are right I need to buy Mary Ann's birth certificate.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Carole,

I had found the marriage but not the christening on IGI.

I am hoping someone may be able to look up the parish records to identify Mary Ann's surname, now we have the church. Thank you

I have also found her sister Fanny Mary Ann HILL on IGI. Christened 25/7/1850 at St Peter's also.

I am looking for a definitive link to confirm the circumstantial info I have so far.

Hi Jo,

Thank you. Those baptistms definately fit. There seem to have been alot of Bartletts and Mary Ann's!

Can you please give me your source for the marriage and baptisms so I can put it with the records.

I now need to work out how to get english certificates and which will be the key ones! I am in New Zealand.

Regards
Gill

Hi,
Thank you very much Jo and Trish. This couple are my husbands gggrandparents and others have done the family tree following a more recent paternal line. I quite agree I now need to get a certificate to link people and find out Mary Ann's maiden name for certain. It is amazing what you can find out by search ing and asking for help though :D.

I have found a possible marriage for Robert Hill and Mary Ann BARTLETT in 1849 on freeBDM. There are a couple of Mary Ann BARTLETT's born in Somerset and Bath (Familysearch). I need to follow these up more closely. A good coincidence at least.

Thank you and kind regards
Gill
