There are still Chalkleys in Tewin village.  Tewin Churchyard is a good place to look also.

Worcestershire / Clerk to the Hop Market Guardians

One of my ancestors was a clerk to the Hop Market Guardians which I understand were a charitable organisation in Worcester in the mid 1800's.  Does anyone know anything else about this organisation?

Many thanks

I am trying to find details of my grandfather's birth - William Joseph McAvoy.  Allegedly born in Bangor.  Father was Joseph McAvoy & had a brother Michael.  But cant seem to track him down.  His Father was apparently a puppeteer!

Any ideas?  Thanks Treacly

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Mary Flello x 3
« on: Monday 29 December 08 19:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I am new to this & was delighted when I came across what I thought was an unusual surname: "Flello" in Worcester but there are lots of them!

Mary Ann Flello b: circa 1853 Worcester.
Married William Perrins in 1881 in Worcester at age 28 & Mary Ann's father was named on the wedding certificate as William Flello, Labourer.

I have obtained birth certificates for the following.  The 3 Mary Flello's do not have William as a Father:-

Mary Ann Flello 1853, The Common, Holt.  Mother: Ellen Flello but Father unnamed.
Mary Flello, 1852, Boat Ley, Worcs.  Mother: Harriet nee Ockey.  Father: Edward Flello, Labourer.
Mary Ann Flello, 1848, Hillhampton, Worcs.  Mother:  Ann nee Bishop.  Father: Charles Flello, Labourer.

Any thoughts on further research would be much appreciated!
