I am researching our family and am trying to trace the family of my Gt Gt Grandmother Margaret OWEN, b. 1829 Caernarvon Bangor Wales

At some point she moved with her family to Hulme Lancashire, where she was recoreded as living with her father William OWEN at the time of her marriage to John William HART in 1855.

According to the 1871 Census Margaret Owen HART and her family live at
44 Middlewood Street, Salford  Manchester Lancashire and consisted of:

John Hart Head 42 Railway pointsman b Staffs, Haughton
Margaret Hart Wife 41 b North Wales, Bangor
Thomas Hart Son 15 Baker's labourer b  Manchester
 Sarah I Hart Daur 11 b Salford
George Hart Son 8 b Salford
 Elizabeth A Daur 6 b Salford
 John W II Son 2 b Salford
 Charles F Son 1 month b Salford

I am the Gt Grandaughter of John William HART II, the first in our line of HARTS to New Zealand.

I would love to hear from you if you think there is a connection.

Hello,

I've recently started doing family research and wanted to put my info out there for other people who might also be doing the HART Family to see.

My Gt Gt Grandfather John William HART was born in Seighford Staffs c1829 He later moved to Salford, Manchester, Lancs where he married Margaret OWEN (b. 1829 Wales) in November 1855.

They had six children,

- Thomas HART b. 1856 Salford, Lancashire

- Sarah Jane HART b. 1860 Salford, Lancashire

- George HART b. 1863 Salford, Lancashire

- Elizabeth HART b. 1865 Salford, Lancashire

-John William HART b. 1868 Salford Lancashire

- Charles HART b. 1871 Salford, Lancashire

I have started to build a family tree website courtesy of the good people at rootschat. At this stage I have only completed the New Zealand section of the family, but hope to add the Salford and Seighford families as I get more information.

The New Zealand branch of the family can be viewed at

http://hartsofnewzealand.rootschat.net/

I look forward to hearing from you if you think there might be a connection between our family and yours.

hi SKB

Thanks so much for your post with info on the Well Meadow Buildings.
It's much appreciated as being in NZ (and being reasonably new to the genie game)  it's quite difficult locating UK info.

If there is anything you want photographed or looked up in the Auckland region, please let me know.

Thanks again

Hi Mobo ;)

Thanks for posting that gorgeous print of Manchester Cathedral. My Gt Gt Grandparents were married there in 1855, so very relevant.

What sort of age would you say that print dates from?

Cheers,

Hi Alva,

i've just joined rootschat (yours is my first post!) I am also doing the HART tree, our Harts are from the Manchester area. I don't really have much yet, but am happy to show you what there is so you can see if there is a connection.

Send me a message if you interested.

Cheers,
