Thanks Maddfridge for your help.

I was trying to find out who had made the decision to put them into the Cottage Homes.  It sounds complicated and expensive though.

Thanks to you also jmichaeltaylor for your help

Much appreciated

Hi

I have just been reading this thread about Cottage Homes in Ponteland. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with info on the homes as I can't seem to find anything.   My mother and her sister were there abt 1940 - 1955.  There doesn't seem to be much out there about it at all.

Thanks

Hello Vi

Did you ever find George Bennett  1802 and Agnes Lisle on 1841/1851 census.  They were my GGG Grandparents on Bennett side.

They have been mistranscribed on 1841 and the family are down as Bennitt. Thomas and James are on it

Hi Falkyrn

Thank you for your time and help it is much appreciated. It does make you wonder if Sarah could be mother of James and maybe a mistake was made when recording her birthplace. Hard to tell

Never mind I will keep up the hunt for them.

Thanks

I am trying to find James Sproul bn 1867, Ireland on the 1881 scottish census.

He married Ellen in 1885 and they are on 1891 census living at Paisley, Renfrewshire.

James would be abt 18 on 1881 census and I think his parents were James and Sarah.  I am trying to find out when he left Ireland to move to Scotland

Any help would be much appreciated

Thank you
