Family History Beginners Board / one goal
« on: Sunday 14 December 08 06:17 GMT (UK)  »
It's just interesting to note,That my one goal  is probably sooo far in the realm of impossabilty .IF I ever locate my dearest Carter relatives from Ulster..I'd want more than Anything. To learn the fate of the Bible.
I'm quite sure it was either forgotten to rot in the earth or
lost in the seasons of time. But my grandmother started a fire under my duff. When I was about 5 years old.A tale she
loved to reminisce on.About how our Ulster ancestors had to bury the Family Bible when the Irish Catholics were apperently stealing and burning them.It fascinated me to no end..and still holds sway. But alas even if I DO locate my looong lost kinfolk,I'm quite sure the Book in question is Long Gone.

Hello,
I voted "I don't know" but I lean towards 'Strong Doubts".But the fault lies with Me.there seems to be two problems hounding me.
1.As an American I'm to far removed from my "roots"to pick up the "scent".
2.My grandmother is the encyclopedia of family knowledge and she is so very hard to get ahold of right now.

Gorry I got troubles ,I seem to have relatives in Wales,Scotland and england And the Border scots seemed to love going on to Ulster.
But as Caswell,Lyons,Douglasand Mcclellan the bulk of the family seems to come from scotland Where exactly is anyones guess.Couple that with the ignorance of youth and the cornerstone of ancestral knowledge.I.e my Grandmother is faaaaaar away from me.I'm in other words Doomed!

Hello,
I'll start by saying I am in a state of utter confusion. My skill
with these computors is probably less than that of a small child.even the "Help" option confused me.I apologize in advance.I began a bit unprepared,it's a folly of my youth.I am attempting to find any remaining relations in Ulster to my I believe great great grandfather James Carter who I'm told immigrated to America hidden in cargo ship.He left in the mid 1700s I think..Arrived in Virginia.Agine I apologize for this skimmpy info I'll contact my Grandmother as soon as I can.But I had to start somewhere. If Anyone thinks they can work with what I have given as of now. Please let me know.
Thank you.
