Thanks for that very kind thought Terry, buy I have visited Earlstom and photographed the stones. Although I think that one may have been toppled at the time, I will check to ensure that I have all the ones you mention.

Hello Cathy,
My Elizabeth Clendinnen was the daughter of Henry Clendinnen and Jean Reed Whale. As far as I know Henry's parents were Joseph Clendinnen and Jean Meckilroy.
I have been to Earlston a few years ago however the house numbers seem to be different and I couldn't locate their home.

Hi Sea Eagle,
Yes I am researching the Clendinnen family in Berwick as Elizabeth Clendinnen married James Renwick in 1840 in Berwick.
James and Elizabeth later migrated to Australia and I am descended from their son Robert.
