Hello Lynn
You seem to be knowledgeable about old wills and probate in Yorkshire, so I hope you don't mind the following request for ideas/help.
I have traced my family (Hill) back to a Henry Hill who married in 1639 in Kirkburton, West Riding. His likely birth years fall in a large gap in the Kirkburton parish records, so I am trying to find alternative ways of determining his parentage. One could be through any will left by his father (possibly a Richard Hill, bapt 1573) - a long shot, as there's little evidence of wealth or wealthy living in the family.
So, could you advise me as to where/how I might me able to examine wills from Kirkburton in the general period of mid 1500s to mid 1600s?
Thanks.
