Hi
Are you able to provide any more information regarding Richard, such as a date of birth. I have a Richard Stephens born in Cavan County in c. 1805. He was my 3rd GGF's brother. My 3rd GGF immigrated to Australia in 1840 with his new wife. His mother came out several years later (father was a convict). I have no further information on Richard after he went to Australia other than his mother's death certificate indicating he was still alive in 1873.

Not sure if one and the same but have other information on family members if so.

Dublin / Weir Family - Dublin
« on: Sunday 24 April 11 14:09 BST (UK)  »
Hello Listers,
I am wondering if anybody can shed any light on Ann Weir (born in Dublin in 1823-24) or her family. Ann is my 3rd GGM. She apparently ran away from family and sailed to Australia with a cousin aboard the "Bondina" from Dublin in 1840-1841 (I am unable to find any record of this ship). She had a son named John Weir born in 1841 and married a convict by the name of James Jones in St James church in Melbourne, Australia in April 1842.  I have no more information on her.

Many Thanks

Cavan / Cavan Convict Records - Stephens/Stevens
« on: Wednesday 16 March 11 11:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Listers,
Can you please advise as to where I can obtain (if possible) convict records for Thomas Stephens/Stevens, born Cavan in 1786. Convict records indicate he was convicted at Cavan on 18 March 1816. He was sentenced to 14 years and a year later was transported to Australia via the "Pilot". The minimal records I have sourced do not indicate of what he was convicted of or where he was living at the time of his offence.

At the time of his conviction, he was married to Margaret Scott and had 4 children. I have no information on Margaret. The only information I have is on son, Thomas, born 1814 in Cavan. Other children were Richard, John and Betsy.

Any advise or assistance would be greatly apprecoated.

Hello Linda,
Thankyou very much for your valuable information. I had limited information on the Pollockas but nothing at all of the Skinners - thank you.

Are you able to advise where I could possibly find details of their marriages and deaths because other than their births I have no other information so I have one side of my family that I have no information.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated
