Hi bishen bertie, Thank-you for your very kind assistence with this block! I have been stuck for some months and I am going to order the Chicklade film from LDS, as I would not wish to inconveniece you further, by having you go far out of your area. That is asking just too much ! I will order the Hindon Parish Reg. and see what is in them. Thank-you so very much for your assistence!

Thanks for your kind offer. I live in Canada. I am making an assumption the Parish Reg, would be available at the Swindon/Chippenham ??  record office. I do not know if records are kept at Cricklade. Would a phone call tell you where they would be available?  I have never done a search in England. Thanks again for your kind offer.

I appreciate that you took time to do a look-up on my request.
People on this site are so kind and helpful. Glad I discovered it was available.

Thank-you so very much. I am very appreciative of your  time and effort. Do you have access to either Chicklade or Cricklade Parish records perhaps? The IGI on line lists both. One entry says father is William Perrot,  Mother Elizabeth. The other one lists father as William Perritt   Mother as Elizabeth Bright, both of whom were christened at Castle Eaton.  I realize the IGI must be verified, but it is a place perhaps at which  to begin. Thanks again.

Thanks for your kind relpy, Davierj, That was quick!!!
I am stumped! This family was very mobile, it seems. My first verification was that Jonathan & Hannah were married in St Denys Parish 1790. Warminster. Next verification, at Fonthill Bishop Parish, where Jonathan is buried in 1833 at age 76. A bit of Math would indicate that he wa born C/ 1757. but where? IGI gave 2 places- Chicklade & Cricklade. Parents were William Perrit & Elizabeth[both born at Castle Eaton].so  it seems they were all over Wilts, as later generations were found back at Melksham & Warminster!
I was advised to check Chilmark Parish reg. I was hoping a fellow genealogist might have access to the reg, as it is a long and painfully delayed process to get them  here

???I HAVE HIT A BLOCK! Would some kind person do a search on my behalf, Please?
Jonathan PERRETT, Chr. 1757, Possible parents William PERRETT & Elizabeth [Bright] PARROT [ The vowels and # of T's seem to change with every entry!!!!!!!] IGI gives christening at Cricklade, & Chicklade, but a suggestion was made to try Chilmark! This is a tough one!!!!These people moved alot!

What is your connection to Poterne/erlestoke Perrett's?
I mean, what line are you connected to, as Bartholomew [lawyer] from Beechingstoke appears to be the head of 4 branches that I have found so far.
