I am also still researching the Crowdell/Cowdell families and have a lot more information than when you visited me in Lutterworth all those years ago. I have a private tree on Ancestry with photos, original records etc. so would be interested in what you have

I am sorry I do not go on this site very often and only just noticed your post. My husband is descended from the same Crowdell family as you. I have been researching the Crowdell families from Leicestershire for many years now and have a family tree with photos and certificates etc on Ancestry.
Two of his american relatives came over to visit me and here they are when we found Joseph Crowdell grave in the Welford Road Cemetery in Leicester.

I have come across your posting on a murder in Gravesend in the 1950's I wonder if it was a young irish man called John or Sean Walsh. I have am doing my son in laws family history and his uncle was found dead and I believe the murderer was never found.
I should be very interested if you have found anything further about this incident
