London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: Newspaper Library - Roscoe

Hi again

Sorry i don't know how to message you back so i have had to go through here again.

I can't remember that much about it, the only things i know at the moment is that its from my grandads side. He and his brother have both passed away but his sister is still alive although i don't know her but my nan does. My grandads name was William Edward Roscoe Critchlow and the Roscoe was from in his family. I'm in the middle of trying to do a family tree to see where it all connects and will ask my nan for more information. My grandads sister also looked into it a few years back and having just spoke to my mum she said there was something about a piece of paper being missing which is needed and know one can find it. This is why i would love to read up on it and why i am looking for more information. I had also heard there was a newspaper article about it but i thought it was from later then the 1947 newspaper you know about so either this is the one or there could be another i'm not sure i'm just trying to find out everything i can to see if there is any truth to the legend, at the very least this is proving to be fun and is giving me something to do. There must be something somewhere if there are other people out there that have heard the same story and have been looking into it.

Any information i can find i will let you know

Thanks

Joanne

hi there that legend is also in my family on my dads side and i was wondering if you ever found the newspaper article as i would also love a copy as i was told about the roscoe millions when i was about 13-14, (i am 29 now). we were told that they couldn't find all the roscoes therefore couldn't release the money etc as something needed to be signed, i'm sure there's more to the story and would love to read all about it. my grandad and great great uncle were roscoe's but sadly have both passed away.

if you have anymore information i would love to hear it.

many thanks

joanne
