Hi Andrea, thanks for the help.I have them in 1881 living at Proutts Court in Caldewgate,Whittey was transcribed wrong, this seems to happen often,by 1891 then are living in Stockport.I did find the Thomas Whitty living with Margaret Barclay in 1871 but i do not recognise the name.I think i found Mary Jane Carruthers in 1861 living at Bridge Terrace,Caldewgate?I think they are church of england,Mary Jane is my great great grannie.Any help with where i might find Parish records online for that area of Carlisle. thanks Andrea. irishistory :)

  Thanks Lizdb,
here in Manchester some of the local history centers have copies of marriage records.I have got a few of these, you are only charged the price of a photo copy compared to £9-25 if you send for the original. The Carrurthers and Whittey wedding was in Carlisle,to far for me to travel at the moment.I just presumed it would be the same in Carlisle and if anybody was there researching they just might have looked for me. Thanks anyway Liz :D

Hi Little nell, sorry, maybe bypass was the wrong  terminology! :-[I was not looking for anything illegal,a reg key is just electronic numbers, they asked me for ownership,i gave it to them??i gave them more proof than they asked for and still recieved  a rebuff!Never once did i ask them for a free upgrade Lizzie, just a little goodwill!!!It was an honest errorr and things can get mislaid or lost,i am only human after all,and a little goodwill goes a long way.It would have gone on here!!!!

Thank you Macbeth,i will certainly try that and hope it works.I could have bought a new one but i was originally hoping for a gesture of goodwill from F.Historian(calico pie)as i had sent them my right of ownership!! Sorry, they make me want to rant!!
          thanks again Macbeth.
