Hi Rambler

Thank you, I have all the info for Jane Ann.
Yes she was Salkeld when she married Walter in 1911.

She was widowed in 1910, at the time she was living in Liverpool.

I am waiting for my Aunt to phone me regarding the birth date for Walter, will let you know when i get it

Thanks

Meriel

Hi Rambler

I dont think the Walter that you have found is the right one
I found this one as well.
I am almost certain that he was born in 1875 and not 1871.
Walter was my ggrandfather. He was married twice, his second wife was Jane Ann Parr.
I have possibly found his first wife but not certain.

Walter and Jane had 3 children, Jane aso had children from a previous marriage and so did Walter. Both previous partners had died.
Walter's parents had a dairy in Wallasey area. There are also other sibling of Walters as well.
I have had a look at the census on Ancestry and I am working on those now.
Its just linking it all up and making the time lines match to the family info that I already have

Thanks

Meriel

Hi To all

I am not part of your trees, but have a bit of useful info for you all!

Regarding Castle Brewery: google 'The history of Shotton, angelfire.com
Chapter 8 is titled 19th Century Shotton.

There are details regarding the brewery and the pubs built by the Brewery.

The Castle Inn, I knew it as Hendy's many years ago. It is still there now

The other pub is The Plough, and that is still there also. They are about two miles apart.

Hi Paul

Would anyone on here have access to the Electoral rolls for 1927 for Flintshire or would I have to go to the records office

Hi Tecwyn

No I didn't notice that.

That might just make sense as I can't see Sarah not being married.

I have checked the  GRO indexes from 1906 upto 1926 but cannot find a marriage.
It all seems a bit strange??

I have found WW1 service records for Harry from 1914, he enlisted in Shotton which is where he was living. He was aged 31 and born in West Bromwich, also have his fathers address from his service record

Thanks

Meriel

Hi all

Just a little update ..... I have searched the GRO indexes on Ancestry for the marriage of Sarah and Harry Hale and I cant find a thing!!

So it looks like they didn't marry after all

Thanks

Meriel
