England / Another pair of eyes

Afternoon all,
Hoping someone can help, I'm trying to find a marriage between a John Newell and Ann Silvester, but cannot find  it anywhere. Tried all the usual sites, but nothing. Just hoping someone with Ancestry or Genes can help as I don't have these, Have no idea when they married but their first child (Henry) was born abt 1834 so I am assuming they got married around about this time. On the 1841 census for Dudley their surname is Noel and on the 1851 census it has changed to Newell or sometimes Newall.
Sorry for asking but have drawn a blank on this one.

Cheers Michael :)

Afternoon guys, thanks for the posts. I have been searching for this elusive ancestor for what seems like an eternity, then I came across the Hugh Wallis site and hey presto there they were. A year and half of searching for one person and then I find her in about 30Min's. Just find it abit odd that I have never found her on IGI but the Hugh Wallis site gathers its information from the IGI site. Maybe, I wasn't using IGI correctly. Anyway back to Hugh Wallis to see if I can find a marriage, fingers crossed !!

Michael :)

Thanks the quick reply, I'll have a look at the site and do what you suggested. Think I have done what you suggested in the past, but I didn't know that one of other people on the page would be one she married. Just thought it was a list of other marriages. You certainly learn with experience.
Thanks again
Michael :)

Sorry, not to sure which board to post this in. Would it be possible for someone with access to Ancestry or Genes Reunited to look something up for, lost my job afew weeks ago so have had to cancel my subscriptions. I'm trying to find out who an Ann Newell married in 1854 (Dudley England) think it was in March. I know it's abit cheeky of me asking but I've looked at all the free sites and there is no spouse info on them.
Thanks in advance
Michael :)

Down / Barry Down Patrick
« on: Thursday 19 November 09 14:38 GMT (UK)  »
Afternoon all, just wondering if anybody has or know where to get info on a marriage of an Ann Barry and John Newell. I have info from the IGI site saying they got married on the 17th sept 1832 in Down Patrick. Just need to find out if they had any children and if they stayed in Ireland or moved. I can't seem to find anything on them, not to sure where to go with Irish records

Cheers from South London

I'm very sad to hear this news, I have not been on this site long, but his advice and links were invaluable to me.

Rest in peace Christopher

Technical Help / Re: Internet Explorer 8
« on: Thursday 21 May 09 21:32 BST (UK)  »
I have just recently installed IE8 and have had no problems at all, I also use Vista as my OS. Infact I had lots more trouble with IE7 with regards to downloading images and looking at archived messages on this site. Maybe I'm just lucky at the moment and it will all go into meltdown later.

Technical Help / Re: DVD Recorder
« on: Thursday 05 March 09 20:55 GMT (UK)  »
Evening all,
Thanks for the advice, I now have cracked it thanks to you guys. It's much appreciated, I don't think I would have done it by myself. I had attached the DVD recorder to the TV via a scart but had stupidly attached the Freeview box to the DVD recorder  via a scart as-well and this seemed to be the problem as you have said the freeview box should also be attached to the TV via a scart as-well, I assumed an aerial would suffice. I am now happily recording one channel and watching another.
Sorry Guy it was a typo, it is a DVD recorder.

Once again guys thanks for all your help

Cheers
Michael :D
