Sylva Plant age 23 U inmate ?? convent...
Thomas Plant age 1 son of Sylva see no. 3
I already have a birth cert for a Thomas Plant born 24 Feb 1850 and it's not my man...that's why I was wondering about ' normal ' birth certs...

Staffordshire / convents halesowen and unmarried mothers

Does anyone know anything about convents in the 1850's in the Halesowen area. My distant relative was an unmarried mother and appears to be in a convent in the 1851 census Rowley regis with her 1 year old son. Would he have a normal birth certificate? are there any records to be found of his birth?
