Hi NannieK,

Thanks for your reply. Alas, that is where my connection with the Quince name starts so I have no further info but will keep an eye out for those names and let you know if I find anything more.

Interestingly though, I also have a Freeman in my tree  - Sarah Freeman b 1803/4 Houghton d 1891 March Cambs married John Setchfield b 1802 Wimblington Cambs d 1891 March Cambs. Bit of a long shot but do you know much/any about the Freeman name in this area as I haven't been able to find out anything more.

Thanks!

I have recently found a Quince link in my family tree - Rebecca Quince b 19 Feb 1743,March Cambs daughter of Henry & Elizabeth Quince (details not known) - does this link in with any of your Quince family?

Diddy, thank you very much for the burial dates you provided. I had year dates but not exact dates and they link in perfectly. You mention that there were more Madgetts but not in Thrandeston-  my line moves from Thrandeston to Diss. If you had more Madgett info from that area I would be delighted. Many thanks indeed for your help

Hi Tricia,
As far as I can tell, John Madgett & Elizabeth Gibbon had about 8 children and I am descended from their son George who married Phoebe Cobb. If you PM me, I can share my info wth you.  Likewise, I'd be interested to learn what you know. It's a shame that we can't get back further, especially when it's such an uncommon name, it ought to be easier!

Hello!
I'm researching my family tree and in so doing, came across your posting here.  My maiden name is Madgett and the furthest back I have got on the Madgett side is John Madgett who was born in 1753 & died in 1835 in Thrandeston, so I guess it's probably the same line that you're researching. (He married Elizabeth Gibbon).
Do we share a link? Have you found out anything more about him?

Thank you
