continuing. Eliza MUMBY court case.
Eliza Mumby was also accused of stealing 9 pairs of socks, 2 yards of ribbon, a scarf, 2 yards of orleans dress, 2 coats, 3 pinafores, 5 ties, 2 flannel jackets, a petticoat, a shirt, a pair of shoes, a pair of leggings, 2 pairs of gloves, 2 capes and 2 caps, the property of William Boulding of Holbeach at Holbeach, was not sentenced on that charge.

On Eliza's convict sheets, the names of her parent's are shown as father: George Mumby, mother Mary. Also shown is brothers, James, George and Simeon and sister Marianne.

Hi Lizzie, this may be of interest, found on GENUKI : Lincolnshire newspaper reports of Bastardy Cases.
Boston Petty Sessions 10 December 1847, An order was made upon Wm. Kennerby, of Old Bolingbroke, servant, for payment of 2s a week and costs towards the maintenance of a bastard child belonging to ELIZA MUMBY, now a convict confined in the gaol at Boston.
Also this, on Convicts Database - Lincolnshire County Council.
CONVICTS DETAILS : MUMBY ELIZA age 26, CRIME : Stealing11 lbs of beef, 2 quarts of wine, 2 bottles, 2 basins, 1lb of butter and 4 lbs of bread, the property of Francis Robinson and another  at Frampton.
PLACE  of CRIME: Frampton / Holbeach. Court: HQS, Trial date 18/10/1847, sentence 7 tears, ship "TORY" destination Tas. Transportation date 1848. Sources used: Minute Book.
Other remar ks: SINGLE WOMAN, previous conviction on 2 January 1843. Mary, the wife of George Mumby, 67, of Frampton, labourer, was accused of receiving the stolen goods, and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment with hard labour. etc etc. Document ref: HQS A/2/22 (vol). victim Wm. Boulding .

Hi Lizzie, I think Shibbolette Esau and Simeon were two different people. Shib. b 1821, christened 13 Jan 1822, Boston, Lincoln. Simeon b 1822. Sarah Charlotte b 1824 Boston, Lincoln, christened 3 June 1824 Boston, Lincoln. Arabella Charlotte b 1825 Boston d 27 May 1827 Boston. Christened 19 Dec. 1825.

Elizabeth Eliza was Christened 24 March 1820 at St. Botolph's Church, Boston.  

I hope you get something out of that, I do have a bit more on next generation down, cheers

Hi Lizzie, quite new at this site, but have been reading some of your posts re Mumby Family. George Mumby and Mary Bolton were my 3xg grandparents. They married 13 July 1806 in Rothwell, Yorkshire. I almost show the same children as you from IGI. James Roger Mumby b 1815 Boston, Lincoln d Apr.1861. He married Maria Newton c 1843. Children, Betsy 1844, Charles 1847, George H 1849 Rebecca 1860.
George Reuben Mumby b 1818 Boston m Mary Ann Stanton c 1846, she was born 1827 in Pinchbeck. George remarried Betsy Steele 1881 in Hull. (St.Matthews). Children of George and Mary, Eliza c 1845 d 1865 .Martha 1847, John George 1854, m Eliza Fenwick 1874 Hull, (Holy Trinity) Frances Maria 1855 m Joseph Moore 1874, Elizabeth 1857, James William 1857 d 1886, Celina (Selina) H.1860 m Thomas Baulton Benson 1879 Hull (St. Barnabas Church) Charles H. 1862 m Jenny Andrews 1897 Hull (Holy Trinity).
Elizabeth Eliza Mumby, born 1820, a convict transported to Tasmania, m Isaac Salter in Tasmania. That is my connection. Simeon Mumby b 1822 Boston m Elizabeth ? 1841 in Boston, she was born 1822. Simeon's occ was sailor. Children, Jane 1846, Frederick 1848, Lavinia 1850, William G. 1852, Robert 1854.  Gotta go.

Hi ashbee, Sarah, I have just seen your posts re Isaac Cass and family of Hull, and was wondering if you have any info about his wife's (Eliza Mumby) family. I have ancestors George Mumby m Mary Bolton who had a son named George Ruby Mumby b c1818 in Boston, Lincoln, England. cheers
