Thank you Elwyn I will check it out. Its a shame they didnt keep alot of records on who were aboard the ships and what not. I cannot find anything about them being aboard this ship from my end here in australia so frustrating. It would be really nice too fill in some of my missing bits and peices someday :)

HI I have 4 orphan irish sisters who somehow ended up in Liverpool from donegal Ireland abt 1839 they were Alice Susan, Ellen, Mary & Rose Scanlin/Scanlon/Scanlan they were transported too Australia aboard the Champion and arrived in Nov 1840. Their parents were james Scanlin and Mary Ann Brynes. I have been trying too find more information on how these children ended up in Liverpool before being transported too australia. If their parents died in Ireland where did they stay before being transported too Liverpool, when they arrived there where did they stay, what happen too their parents I gess I will never know but if anyone can help point me in the right direction as too learning more about their time before they arrived in australia this would be wonderful and or what records too look into this would be a greta help

Scotland / Re: Brickwall - Need Help Shearer's of Edinburgh

Hi Dave

Thanks for the warning regarding placing my email address on rootsweb I am new to this sort of thing and was not aware of the possible problems that could arise from doing it also being against the rules.

Also thank you for your advice regarding my brickwall I will take all of this to heart and try and do other searches using the variants as you have suggested including their first names.

I have found both Daniel and isabella Shearers children named Isabella and Daniel Also and their death certifcates states their parents were deceased  so their is a possibility there death certifcates maybe their somewhere.

Its just finding them and putting that missing peice together. Both fun, challanging and extremely frustrating but thats the joy of family history isnt it.

Once again Dave I like too give you a big thank you from me to you for your reply and help

Cheers
