Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Inquest Report in Newspaper 1889
« on: Monday 30 March 09 19:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi there
If the fall in the canal was in Wombwell, which is near Barnsley, there possibly could be a report in the Barnsley Chronicle of the inquest.
Copies of this are held at Barnsley Archives which is at Barnsley Library, Shambles Street,  Barnsley
South Yorkshire.
Hope this helps
Deno.

Hi Carolanne,
I have quite a few deaths in Barnsley around 1888 onwards, On my first visit to the library, I could not find them all.
Do you have any Bowmers in your list from 1888.
Thank you
Denbo

Hi Sand,
I had a relly in S.Y. Asylum, or Middlewood Hospital, he died in 1900.
All the records including photo's were available at the
Sheffield Archives, 52 Shoreham Street Sheffield.
You can find it on the net.

Hi Kim
Leeds Bradford and Wakefield are all very close, and the brothers certainly moved away, even when travel wasn't quite so easy as today.
Have you any details from a census, in this area.?
Where did he marry?
Is his father Thomas on his marriage certificate?
If there is a connection, I will certainly do my bit, to help piece it together.
I am now looking further into the family, and moving away from my original line.

Hi there,
I think we had contact a while ago, re  birth of John Thomas Hurd.
 Did you find out anything?
Over the last few months, I have found that just about all Hurd b.m.d.s in the Wakefield area come from the same line, which I am following.
If you have any Hurds in the 1800s in this area, I may be able to help.
Hope to hear from you.

Buonasera

Just a thought,  before I go to work. I don't need the actual cert. I will do a makeshift one with information you gave me thanks. Was Sarah the informant? on the certificate.
Catch you later
Bye

Hi again
If the India connection was a Hurd, I think we should be looking at Alfreds life.
I will send for the birth cert from Wakefield, to confirm parents, I have March 1853. Can't see a death so lets hope he survived and went to India.
Surely it would have to be a son, to send money to the family.
I found some exellent sites on the web, one of them gave names of those who travelled to India, and the ships they travelled on.
F.I.B.I.S. families in British India society.
I did not give this much of my time, as I thought we need to find the basics first.
Actually, Alfred would have been Julia Annes brother.
I suppose you know about Julia Annes children, so it wouldn't be one of them.

Also where did you find William, Thomas, and Elizabeth children of Thomas and Harriet ? I can't see them on I.G.I.
Talk to you later.

I can't use the fax until next week.
Anyway before this post disappears again.
