I do know that he had some distant cousins in the Birkenhead area;  Cooper,  Richardson and Midwood are the relevant names.

Hi Sue, I'd be interested to know what the Midwood connection is. Some of my Midwoods were in the Wallasey area but I'm not aware of a Horsman connection.  I'd be happy to exchange info if you can let me know which Midwood it is.

Hi Kev,
I have a Turkish Crimea medal inscribed with "2191  THOMAS BATTLE  RIFLE BRIGADE".
I know he was a Private in the 2nd Battalion & was severely wounded on 12th April 1855 at Sebastopol, Gazetted 24th April 1855.
Any other info you may be able to turn up for him would be very much appreciated.
